Hyacinth
© Joy Krauthammer 2013
This sweet fragrant little flower hyacinth, close to the ground
faithfully reappears each January or February and says,
I'm back, Hanayni / Here I am.
A few years ago I transplanted this precious bulb from the rose garden
and moved to opposite part of garden where I have easier access
to get on my knees and breathe in deeply.
This hyacinth has an adjacent sibling.

Etrog tree seedlings 3"
for Tu B'Shvat 2012
gift to Joy from Arlene Milrad
(whom I met at Jewish Federation and LimmudLA)
from her Chabad kosher Etrog seeds.
I'm so excited to grow my first etrog tree.
I used to use the protective Sukkot flax for my weavings.
